Scripture for All
Neil and Kathy Vanaria in Papua New Guinea
Biographies
We both grew up in New England and came to Christ during the Jesus movement in the 1970's. We met while attending the University of Massachusetts where we participated in Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. It was not long before we both felt a strong sense of call to missions. Though we both felt we had reached the "ripe old age" of 19 or so before we fully understood the gospel, we had done so in a nation where Bibles are in every home and the gospel can be heard broadcast on TV and radio. We both knew that in many other parts of the world access to the gospel message is extremely difficult. Though many Americans, and many Westerners have rejected the scriptures, no one lacks access to the truth if they so desire. That is not the case all over the world where many have no access to the truth even if they desperately long to know. So in 1988 we answered God's call to go to Papua New Guinea where we spent more than 25 years full time.
During this season of our lives we have been asked to dedicate two years to work on a "remote project" for a study Bible in the trade language of Papua New Guinea. To date there are no study Bibles available and this will be a great tool for those who desire to know the scriptures more clearly.
